With a growing demand for exclusive content, behind-the-scenes access, and deeper fan engagement, IMAX sought to create a platform that could extend the magic of the big screen into everyday interactions.
As the Digital Partner, we led the UI/UX design and end-to-end app development—delivering an experience that’s sleek, immersive, and built for superfans. Our goal was to create a platform that not only feels premium but also encourages daily user interaction through content, community, and direct creator access.
The project spanned user research, experience design, interface development, prototyping, and full-stack engineering—resulting in a product ready to launch at scale.
Challenges & Our Approach
One of the biggest challenges was translating the epic, larger-than-life essence of IMAX into a mobile-first format. The app had to feel as cinematic as the IMAX experience itself—while being intuitive, fast, and community-driven.
To solve this, we began with audience research and competitive analysis, mapping out the expectations of modern entertainment consumers. Through collaborative workshops with the IMAX team, we identified key feature sets:
